Meanwhile, I have reviewed your plan and I believe that libnatspec is a viable solution. Even so, it is my opinion that a patch should be pushed upstream(unzip). That would be a permanent solution. Thus, I believe there is reason to try to contact the original unzip maintainer. If you believe that a reassignment(or un-assignment) is appropriate, please let me know. For the time being, I think we should concentrate on efforts to "1. get libnatspec into Debian". How is progress in that regard?
