Additional background Info: The Delete (Trash) Folder has been working OK (i.e. Deleting Items when Logging Out or Highlighting individual messages and using Expunge <Ctrl><E> ).
Then about 3-5 days ago (~24/5/10) noticed that Deleted Items were not being removed from the Trash Folder so closed down/restarted evolution a couple of times before restarting Ubuntu 9.10 After that evolution started normally but a number of previously read e-mails appeared as unread with my new e-mails. The Deleted (Trash) Folder still has entries (including the full message text etc..) which cannot be deleted/expunged anymore. Tried moving the Deleted messages to a new folder (off Inbox) which I called weird and then selecting all hit the delete key which moved them back to the Deleted (Trash) Folder. The Deleted (Trash) Folder now had Duplicates (surprise! surprise!), but even more surprising Expunging <Ctrl><E> removed the Duplicates but still left the originals. Could this be a case of Corrupted Folders (Databases - Indexing problems) on evolution? My next step could be to Archive my e-mails and uninstall/reinstall evolution and see if this clears the problem or is there a simpler approach like deleting the Deleted (Trash) Folder Database and wait for evolution to re-create on restart (after all I don't mind losing the messages that I am trying to Delete!).
