Solved. After a day's effort searching for the cause I found it. In my desperate attempts to get the detailed thunar view working I tried the xubuntu-dev ppa. Unfortunately, it updated more files than I realised, and this was compounded by then adding xubuntu's proposed updates. Effectively, I'd ended up with a mish-mash of versions for various files.
ppa-purge corrected the updated packages then proposed updated the newly restored files. ppa-purge has just moved to the top of my list of most useful tools. -- thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/520118 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
