note that we have no interest to spend further efforts changing the logic of what the code is doing now, the ressources are limited lucid has lot of real bugs that should be fixed, if you are able to tweak a gconf key you should be able to do the changes you want too, the issue described my be a bug but it's low importance and a corner case and not going to be worked any time soon...
