Yes. I just tried it again to double check, and I'm still seeing the same error in the logs. I also tried "completely removing" the application and reinstalling it from the PPA.
Not sure if the problems are related, but I'm also unable to connect to my Facebook account via Empathy 2.30.1, which also works in Pidgin.
