Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
Every now and then my gnome-terminal session (all Terminal windows) freezes/stalls for minutes (usually somewhere between 2-5 minutes of total unresponsiveness). This happens randomly and does not seem to be related to the action done in Terminal. The freeze shows up as non-responding Terminal window and compiz starts rendering the window as black and white. Opening xterm from ALT+F2 "Run Application" dialog works fine during the freeze. I installed appropriate debug symbols and attached gdb to gnome-terminal process during a freeze. Here's the result: (gdb) bt full #0 0x00007f31445788f1 in nanosleep () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 No symbol table info available. #1 0x00007f31440c2e88 in IA__g_usleep (microseconds=<value optimized out>) at /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.22.3/glib/gtimer.c:170 request = {tv_sec = 0, tv_nsec = 0} remaining = {tv_sec = 10, tv_nsec = 76990604} #2 0x00007f314648668c in ??
