It could be a good idea to upgrade one box to test that everything you
need is still working next time, we try as best to not break things
between versions but we don't write all the softwares we distribute and
bugs happen. The issue you raised has not been really flagged as a
stopper until now likely because most users have one account or switch
between ids not as often as you do.

The bug has been fixed in fedora because they use the new version which
has all the technologies changes for GNOME3, the version had lot of code
changes and low testing until now, Ubuntu didn't trust it to be a good
choice to be ship an earlier unstable version in a lts now, it will be
available next cycle and it would not be surprising to see a ppa or
backports for it too...
