Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

in a gnome-terminal in 2010, the default shell configuration "profile" should
include scrolling at least intuitively.
the feature is available from the profile-preferences dialog in the
gnome-terminal menu, but is disabled by default.

folks, i know to some of you this might be a religious or philosophical
topic, bourne shell has been a home, a living place to many of you guys
who've been around linux in it's early days, all respect goes out to you
people who held up the flag for linux and free software ever since.

let's make the environment that once was the main user interface to the linux
kernel more intuitive, following the ideas of usability and intelligent human
interface design, by making the shell infinitely scrollable by default.
we are in an age of computing, in which only exceptional machines are unable to
memorise a few hundred lines of code, due to small Random Access Memory
capacity..
even if so, they will obviously not be able to run Lucid or even Karmic, not to
speak of X itself then.

i hope not to annoy anyone with this bug report / opinion

i found no technical arguments for my bug report and solution, so i
chose historical ones.
