Hmm. Bart said that a parted patch was forthcoming to make it not probe
CDs or floppies. However, that patch doesn't seem to be available yet,
and I don't know exactly what its interface would be so I'm reluctant to
try to guess at it myself.

Furthermore, the attached patch does not really seem to be correct
either: it doesn't have the code in parted to skip dm-*, loop*, and ram*
devices, which I expect will produce some weirdness in a live session.

Changing parted's interface in a way that will potentially be
incompatible with future upstream releases makes me uncomfortable, so I
guess the best answer for now is to fix up the gparted patch. I'll work
on this.
