Sorry - tried but unable to run gdb in the short time that Aesop's Fables (Live CD Examples folder) allows. However I did find that if Aesop's Fables is played via Rythmbox there is no problem, the problem of 'freeze' happens when played under default Movie Player. I'd be willing to explore further but need guidance.
