Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
hey all, after checking a bug reported in Ubuntu-IL forums, i noticed there's a common problem with hibernating, specifically with gnome-power-manager. Tested on more than one type of PC (from laptop to netbook) the computer indicates the low battery, yet even though the configuration is correct, it doesn't hibernate, but simply continues to work, and when the battery is completely empty, it shuts down like a desktop computer getting unplugged. The user reported tried using Kpowersave, and found out it works much better, controlling the configuration without issues.. cheers ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Mar 12 10:40:56 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) NonfreeKernelModules: wl Package: gnome-power-manager 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.3 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-20.57-generic SourcePackage: gnome-power-manager Uname: Linux 2.6.31-20-generic i686 XsessionErrors: (gnome-settings-daemon:2188): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_propagate_error: assertion `src != NULL' failed (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:2288): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed (nautilus:2287): Eel-CRITICAL **: eel_preferences_get_boolean: assertion `preferences_is_initialized ()' failed (gnome-panel:2284): Gdk-WARNING **: /build/buildd/gtk+2.0-2.18.3/gdk/x11/gdkdrawable-x11.c:952 drawable is not a pixmap or window (firefox:2694): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug gnome-power-manager i386 -- gnome-power-manager doesn't hibernate - simply crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/537935 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
