Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
in 10.04 (20100224 development branch) if you plug in a usb memory stick you can unplug it by selecting either "unmount" or "eject" or "safely remove" options in the nautilus right-click menu. But if you plug-in a usb external disk you only have "unmount" and "safely remove" options. I think only the "safely remove" entry should be displayed to avoid confusion. In fact the "umount" option is only useful if you want unmount the device and the mount it again whereas selecting "safely remove" force you to unplug and plug the device again to mount it (but I think it's an acceptable behaviour for a typical user). Eject button is not useful in case of usb memory stick (I haven't found any difference between "eject" and "safely remove") but only with cd-rom drives. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: wishlist -- unmount, eject and safely remove options are misleading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/529708 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
