Very Interesting. I have a similar set-up with two networked printers.
Although I had not changed routers I had added a  wireless access
point. However, since reporting thus bug I have upgraded to Karmic
(which eliminated the problem) so can not confirm if a bug with CUPS
and networked printers was the cause but it does sound plausible.
