Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
When the "Dim display when idle" option is enabled in the Power Management Preferences, the display will dim after a few, seemingly random, seconds. The help document for the Power Management says that the Screensaver Preferences are used to set the session idle time. I have that value set to 10 minutes. When I enable the setting and let my system sit idle, the screen has gone dim at the following approximate times: 12 seconds 26 seconds 38 seconds 78 seconds It seems that each time it waits for a longer period of time before dimming. If I reboot, it starts over with dimming at just a few seconds. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to System -> Preferences -> Power Management 2. Enable "Dim display when idle". Click Close 3. Wait and do not move the mouse or press a key. Expected result: Display should not dim until the session idle time, set in the screensaver preferences, is reached. Actual result: Display dims at random times. Reproducibility: Always, although the interval increases with each dimming until a reboot. ** Affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New -- "Dim display when idle" does not respect idle time setting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/513468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
