Thanks for your help and interest !
I tryed to use the file with the live CD of Ubuntu 9.10 and the problem
still occurs.
I attach a 4 pages .ps file where in each page is wrote "page x of 4" so you
can see that only the last page is
displayed.

multiple page PostScript file is visible and the counter shows page 1 of 1 but
in my case it's the 8th page. I have
made another .ps file with only 2 pages and the same problem occurs.
