Public bug reported: I'm running 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope, a fresh install. I ran 8.10 on another computer, didn't notice this problem. I upgraded that system to 9.04 and this crashing behavior started. When 9.10 came out, I upgraded that system again, and the crashing continued. As I said, my current system is a fresh 9.04 install, dual-booting Windows (no WUBI here).
Usually happens on the first search only. After crash, if I restart Evolution and perform the same search, it won't crash. I can perform multiple searches without any apparent problem. If I start Evolution from the command line, this appears in the terminal: ** (evolution:29220): DEBUG: mailto URL command: evolution %s ** (evolution:29220): DEBUG: mailto URL program: evolution ** (evolution:29220): DEBUG: EI: SHELL STARTUP (evolution:29220): camel-CRITICAL **: camel_object_is: assertion `o != NULL' failed (evolution:29220): evolution-mail-CRITICAL **: mail_tools_folder_to_url: assertion `CAMEL_IS_FOLDER (folder)' failed ** (evolution:29220): DEBUG: EI: mail_read_notify ** (evolution:29220): DEBUG: MAIL SERVER: Count changed: 0 When I perform the search, the terminal only reports one line: Segmentation fault I'm not sure how to make it crash again - unless I reboot. I was unable to use strace because the system hung when I started Evolution (w/strace). I was finally able to use gdb and get a backtrace. I started Evolution, started gdb, and make Evolution crash. I will upload the resulting gdb backtrace file. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Evolution crashes when search term is entered in search box and ENTER is pressed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/511004 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
