Stripping the APEv2-tags from the file solved the issue for me. Afterwards it was again possible to tag the files and the tags remained unrewinded. I assume Rhythmbox used the remaining ID3-tags.
I used the following Python-script to strip the APEv2-tags. Save it to a .py-file, make sure you have python-mutagen installed, make the file executeable and give the files to change as commandline arguments. THIS SCRIPT COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY!
