Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
The led from the multimedia have two states to reflect the mute state: blue and red (orange for some people). When the sound is not muted the color is supposed to be blue. When it is muted, red. The color boots red but as soon as a user logs and the intro music is played, it turns to blue. Some seconds latter, it is red again, although the sound is not muted. If I play some music, the color changes to blue and stay on that state as long as there is music playing. If I press the mute button with the music playing, the sound is muted but the color stays blue. If I then pause the music, some seconds later the color turns to red. If there is no music playing, when I press the button the color changes to blue and, some seconds later, to red again, doesn't matter the actual state of the mute. The state of the led then seems to be related to whenever is music playing or not, not the actual state of mute. The actual muting works fine. The sound is muted and the icon at the notification area changes accordingly.
