Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
I suspect the name as being at fault because after two or three times of trying to create a folder named "misc" (quotes not part of name), I gave up and, instead, renamed the "untitled folder" to "other". I.e., it successfully created the folder, but refused to rename it to "misc", but found "other" to be an acceptable name. I was in the process of reducing the folder from around 14,000 entries by aggregating them into folders. I'm currently down to around 4,500 entries, but now it will start increasing again until I devise the next stage of aggregation. My file system is ext3.
