Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ekiga

if I start up ekiga i get the

"Ekiga did not manage to configure your network settings automatically.
You can still use it, but you need to configure your network settings
manually.

Please see
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Enable_port_forwarding_manually for
instructions"

error.

Ive done all the firewall setting, but to no avail. They're all back
now. I'm on a home network. The firewall is standard setup.

Googling mentioned disabling STUN in gconf-editor>apps>akiga>general>nat
>disable-stun

it seemed to work.

once.

now it wont start up if disable flag is set. Fine if it's not but no
sound or vid coming in- both go out ok. am connecting on messenger on a
laptop next to me to test. like i say... one way going out.

Also - there's ringing when I call from messenger to ubuntu (here) but
no option to pick up the call. I have to dial out from ubuntu to xp to
be able to pick up. that's when i find out theres no sound coming into
here (ubuntu/ekiga).

I'm running Kubuntu Koala

2.6.31-14-generic

processor:
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.60GHz

ii ekiga 3.2.5-1ubuntu1
H.323 and SIP compatible VoIP client

***update****

I've found that if I start up with the ekiga account disabled then I can
start with STUN disabled, activate the account & all seems to work.

will attach

  ekiga -d 4

for enabled & disabled STUN

thanks for your time,

Martin.
