The developer on bugzilla stated "Also, unless you are motivated enough to actually write some code or pay/convince someone else to do it for you then you are less likely to get what you want."
I don't really know how this sort of thing works, but I will pitch in $40 to get real functionality in gnome-screensaver ( I would help code but I don't consider myself a good enough programmer yet ), if that is what is needed to motivate somebody to fork or fix this problem. Anybody else willing to contribute?
