Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince
Opening a PDF file in my home-dir (which is /data/jernst) results in the following errors being printed in my terminal : see terminal.txt And the following error in dmesg : see dmesg.txt Doing the same with another user whose home dir is in /home doesn't show any error. I can reproduce this on two different karmic boxes with home directories not in /home. $ grep jernst /etc/passwd jernst:x:1000:1000:Jonathan Ernst,,,:/data/jernst:/bin/bash $ pwd /data/jernst/Bureau $ evince somefile.pdf -> see terminal.txt ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Nov 27 13:09:23 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 Package: evince 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.2 [modified: usr/bin/evince usr/bin/evince-thumbnailer usr/bin/evince-previewer] ProcEnviron: LANG=fr_CH.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: evince Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic x86_64 ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apparmor apport-bug regression-release -- Evince cannot create some files because of apparmor if home-directory is not in /home/ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/489170 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
