I can confirm this bug. Evolution 2.28 in Ubuntu 9.10 crashes too. But, surprisingly evolution crashes when I receive an invitation from somebody who is using Apple iCal (on Snow Leopard). When I receive an invitation from someone using Googlemail, Evolution does not crash.
