I just did some more testing, if the zip file is located locally, this doesn't happen.
I can replicate it with my original configuration which is the zip file is located on a remote network share, so the error might occur with creation of temporary files possibly. An example of how I'm accessing the .zip file in question, what is in my nautilus location bar: smb://mydomain;myusern...@remoteservername/remoteshare/remotedir In this dir is my zip file and I have write access to this share/dir. If I try to rename a file inside the zip I get "An error occurred while adding files to the archive." and the file I'm trying to rename is no longer in the zip. -- file roller rename a file inside a .zip file fails, deletes original file from zip archive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/485098 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to file-roller in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
