The issue is in gstreamer as can be shown with the following commands: $ gst-launch playbin2 uri=http://www.mididatabase.com/20091028/punk/clash/Rock_The_Casbah.mid $ gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///tmp/Rock_The_Casbah.mid (the first does not work, the second does)
