This bug affects me too. Although I noticed this behaviour first with the update to 9.10. In 9.04 I didn´t noticed this bug. On my system it affects the VNC Player, Kaffeine, Dragon Player and Totem Player. So I suppose it would affect any player you will install. Power Management is disabled on my system so I can´t test this.
