I'm using empathy 2.28.1-1ubuntu1 and metacity 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu1 (the
ones included in the official Karmic release), and I'm having the same
problem Marques originally described. If I open Empathy, move the
contact list to the right of my screen, close the window, then re-open
it using the indicator applet, it (incorrectly) appears on the left of
my screen. If I just minimize it, then click on either the window list
or the indicator applet, it re-appears in the correct position. It does
not move down with each close/open. I have not actually installed
Karmic yet -- I'm booting of a live USB startup disk. I have a dual-
monitor setup, but I get the same incorrect close/open behavior even if
I disable the second monitor.
