The issue is not solved yet. Using Karmic 64bit. Of course it might be possible to quickfix by using a env-variable. At the end it harms the ubuntu-experience thou. Especially as eclipse is used quite a bit in the community it will be more then a LOW prio paper-cut.
The result is simply: "Eclipse does not work right in the new ubuntu version".
