Didn't want to chime in but few of these comments doesn't really help to solve the bug. It's advised not to rant, blame developers, tell why you do not use this or that, or talk about end-of-the-world situations. The bug seems to have been identified, it should be tested and fixed, I guess helping comments about making this process forward are welcome, others may be not. Yes, this should be fixed fast because it breaks important funcionality. I do not have the resources to fix it, and open source users must not _demand_ fixing from others. Asking pretty please should do well. :-) My two 'cents.
