Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
** Bug Description ** If I change certain user settings (such as system theme in the appearance applet or changing volume) and then quickly log out, the changes are not saved. However, if I wait longer (perhaps a minute or more) before logging out, the changes are saved. Strangely, this does not happen with the second user account I created, only the first. This problem is reproducible for me over two installs of Karmic. Two factors that might be playing a role in this: I am using home encryption and EXT4. ** My System ** PC: HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.60GHz RAM: 1GB DDR400 Video: Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller Sound: 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller OS: Ubuntu 9.10 beta 1 w/ all updates as of 10/15/09 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Oct 15 08:54:35 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 Package: gnome-settings-daemon 2.28.0-0ubuntu3 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.47-generic SourcePackage: gnome-settings-daemon Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 XsessionErrors: (gnome-settings-daemon:2246): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_propagate_error: assertion `src != NULL' failed (gnome-settings-daemon:2246): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_propagate_error: assertion `src != NULL' failed (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:2349): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed (nautilus:2342): Eel-CRITICAL **: eel_preferences_get_boolean: assertion `preferences_is_initialized ()' failed (gnome-panel:2341): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width -1 and height 24 ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- settings changed right before logoff are not saved https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/452184 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
