I think there is a miscommunication here. I am not reporting that GDM is using "user names" and not "usernames".
I am reporting that Ubiquity says one thing, and GDM is doing something different. If the bug is not GDM, and I stated earlier that it was probably not as it was obviously a conscious feature change, then it surely must be a bug in Ubiquity.
