I can reproduce this bug with the following steps: 1) starting the LiveCD 2) connecting to a wireless network 3) add main repository source and update 4) install xchat 5) change workspaces to 4 columns 6) change panel properties "show hide buttons":ON and "arrows on hide buttons":OFF --> changes to the panel at stage 6 aren't visible! changing anything (after this step) on the bottom panel is not visible
