Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

Under current karmic, the apparmor profile for evince doesn't allow
files without a filename extension to be open when they're not stored in
the user's homedir. This is due to patterns matching standard extensions
of evince's supported filetypes being used in the evince apparmor
profile for determining access rights to files.

As file extensions are totally optionnal both under Gnome and Unix (and,
imho, are not very elegant), their usage should not be enforced by
apparmor.

** Affects: evince (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
