Public bug reported: The recent update of libvte seems to have broken gnome-terminal's ability to clear to mutt's dark background, over an ssh session with TERM=xterm.
mutt (running on hardy) will start up on a white screen, drawing text on dark backgrounds as it updates various portions of the screen, but untouched areas remain white. I have a very minimal muttrc et al so this one should be easy to reproduce, I hope.
