Further information - Earlier in the day I copied about 4GB of files from an NFS mount to the Sansa Fuze. During the copy, my wireless connection (iwlagn, Intel 5300) dropped and I restored it by running "sudo iwconfig wlan0 down up". When the connection resumed, the file copy (using Nautilus drag and drop) continued automatically.
