This is an up-to-date karmin x86 32 bit system. Pidgin does not start,
it consumes all idle CPU but pidgin window (or it's notification area
icon) is not shown even after minutes. Some output from pidgin though:

ERROR: Caught a segmentation fault while loading plugin file:
/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so

Please either:
- remove it and restart.
- run with --gst-disable-segtrap and debug.

Pidgin does not recoginize the --gst-disable-segtrap option, so I have no idea
how to test that ...
Removing /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so seems to help though
(pidgin starts normally).
