Public bug reported: (Sorry if it's a dupe)
rich...@richard-laptop:~$ uname -a Linux richard-laptop 2.6.31-4-generic #22-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 24 18:05:56 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux 64-bit Karmic alpha 3 with all updates applied, on my 2nd-gen MacBook. I have an external hard disk attached via USB. I select any file on that hard disk in nautilus and select "Delete". The computer gives me a dialog (screenshot attached). I select "Delete". The files stay where they are and can't be deleted from within the file browser. So I opened a terminal and did sudo rm -r * on the external hard disk - no problems.
