Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit
I use gedit 2.24.2. The use of the spell checker works fine in general, but if an abbreviation comes along, it ignores the "dot" belonging to it and recommends the abbr. with a "dot". This causes two "dot"s instead of one. e.g. (attention: its a german abbr.) "Dr." is already correct, but spell checker claims it incorrect because it only recognises "Dr" Then it recommends "Dr." If you accept it, it results in "Dr.."
