Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use. Please don't
copy strace logs to comment they are usually useless and doesn't make
easy to browse the page or read the bug. Do you have a /usr/lib
/mozilla-firefox/components/compreg.dat? If you have it, does moving it
away fixes the issue? That might be a duplicate of bug #30791
