As such it makes parts of the GNOME desktop largely unusable so I suggest moving it to gtk+ and raising the priority of this bug. I'm seeing this bug too (see attachment), but eg firefox has it too. You need to type a file name which has multiple possible completions (eg ~/000 if you have any GIT patches laying around). Here's a sequence to crash evolution cd touch 0000 0001 evolution --force-shutdown evolution --component mail # wait for and focus it C-n C-M 0000 it crashes when attemting to type the fourth 0. And here's how to crash firefox cd touch 0000 0001 killall -9 firefox firefox # wait for and focus it C-o 0000 it crashes when attemting to type the fourth 0. evolution log file attached. 12:25:50 jann...@heerbeest:~ $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch) Release: 9.10 12:25:55 jann...@heerbeest:~ $ apt-cache policy evolution firefox evolution: Geïnstalleerd: 2.27.3-0ubuntu3 Kandidaat: 2.27.3-0ubuntu3 Versietabel: *** 2.27.3-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status firefox: Geïnstalleerd: 3.0.11+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 Kandidaat: 3.0.11+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 Versietabel: *** 3.0.11+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Attachment added: "backtrace of evolution crash" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/28623774/evolution-gdb.log -- evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in g_main_context_dispatch() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389057 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
