Okay, but your mockups are bad (I hope you do not take any offense, because its a great idea!). screenshot 1 - you use emblems. emblems should be attached to files/folders, not used as folders. screenshot 2 - you use the file icons from mime type, that is very confusing. screenshot 3 - you're on the right track here.
