** Description changed: Using fully updated Ubuntu 8.10, Kernel 2.6.27-11-generic, GNOME 2.24.1. Nautilus version 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu2. I create a file via gedit and save to directory "X". I expect nautilus to update the item count in "X". It does not refresh the count until manually refreshed or the directory is opened. If the file is dragged into "X" instead of saved directly there, nautilus works as expected. For what this is worth...gvfs-monitor-dir "X" does indeed see that the file has been saved to the directory even though the count is not refreshed. This also applies to refreshing thumbnail images of modified image files. + + To recreate: + Set Nautilus prefs to display size of directory or file + Create directory - /home/user/Desktop/"X" + Use gedit to create a text file + Save that file through gedit, saving to /home/user/Desktop/"X" + The count of items in "X" will not update until F5 or Ctrl+R is pressed + OR until the directory is opened, thereby refreshing its item count.
