1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, Following the initial install of Ubuntu 8.10 on this Lptop no sound of any kind was available.
2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! OK Done my best to comply Found Website https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting?action=show&redirect=DebuggingSoundProblems and worked my way though this as best as I could. The results of the various Terminal queries and responses are listed in the attached openOffice.org document. I think from this that my soundcard is not supported!? Can you have a look and see what you think please? As I say in the attachment I am a newcomer to Ubuntu and so have not the expertize to understand all of the Terminal query output. I am very impressed by 9.01and will use this operation system from now on, but I would dearly love to hear some sound off thius laptop. (Sound is working fine on my old ACER Travelmate 2420 which I have als updated to 9.1) THank for you help, David ';^)> ** Attachment added: "Sound Troubleshooting documentation." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26209736/Sound%20Troubleshoot..odt -- Questions matching "ny sound on my laptop (I think it might be a driver problem?)
