I am getting this error in Jaunty. Same issue as Dylan - neither gnome-
mount nor mounting from the command line works and the same output that
he posted:
$ sudo mount -t udf /dev/cdrom /media/dvd
mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
$ dmesg | tail

[ 953.147279] ISOFS: Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
This is a UDF data DVD that works correctly in Windows.
