@Michael Nagel: I've tried Glipper, Parcellite and Desktop Data Manager. In my opinion Glipper and Percellite just don't work. Both of them only support text, I've had problems with these applications not starting when booting the system, after installing these applications the copy / paste function of OpenOffice.org stopped working properly.
I'm using Desktop Data Manager for months now and I haven't had any problems. It not only supports text, but also images. I haven't had any problems with this application. It always starts and copy / paste just works, always. "maybe in a modified version to show no task list icon (and thus only exposing the basic "copy and paste just works"-behavior but not the advanced history&co options)." I'd really like to see a stripped down version of Desktop Data Manager to be included in the default distribution. "--> we should really try to get a clipboard manager in the default distribution for karmic. the importance of this bug should be raised to... at least something above "normal" imho."
