Public bug reported: I recently tried plugging in a 2nd monitor to my laptop, using TwinView. I used nvidia-settings to configure the new xorg.conf, and everything worked perfectly after I restarted X. However, when I removed the 2nd screen from xorg.conf and restarted, my panel disappeared, seemingly permanently. It kinda seems like gnome-panel is expecting to start up on the non-existant monitor that I had removed, even though I never actually moved it off of the first screen.
.xsession-errors is attached. I'm running Compiz, with nvidia drivers, on Jaunty. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gnome Panel Crashes on start every time after 2nd monitor disconnect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/358494 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
