FYI: hinting highly depends on the font you use and the dpi settings of your screen. So, we will need font specific settings anyways. For example: The DejaVu family contains instructions. Therefor you would want to disable auto-hinting and set your hinting style to "full" for this family. But with a higher dpi setting, for example 125 dpi, you would want to disable hinting altogether. The same goes for bigger font sizes (in point). We will try to deliver a good set of font specific fontconfig settings for Karmic. -- Autohinter should be enabled by default in Jaunty to avoid font rendering inconsistencies https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349850 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to libgnome in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
