Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
update manager fails to fetch cdrom:[Ubuntu-Studio 8.10 _Intrepid Ibex_ - Release amd64 (20081028)]/pool/main/m/mawk/mawk_1.3.3-11.1ubuntu1_amd64.deb. And, I cannot delete my effort to install UbuntuStudio, desktop, 64 AMD.iso so I could then install Ubuntu 8.10 desktop 64 AMD.iso or to simply go back to Ubuntu 8.04.1 Hardy Herron and allow the auto update function to occasionally prompt me to update and be able to do that. When I run update manager, this message pops out: "Can't install 'ubuntu-desktop' "It was impossible to install a required package. Please report this as a bug. Could not calculate the upgrade "A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade. Then, this analysis follows: "This can be caused by: * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu This is most likely a transient problem, please try again later." I did a file browser report as follows: "/home/k78724/cache /home/k78724/Desktop /home/k78724/Documents /home/k78724/drupal-6.9 /home/k78724/dwhelper /home/k78724/Examples /home/k78724/firefox /home/k78724/install_flash_player_9_linux /home/k78724/iP1500 /home/k78724/PDF /home/k78724/Pictures /home/k78724/Public /home/k78724/Templates /home/k78724/Videos /home/k78724/-- /home/k78724/bjfilter-common-2.50-2.i386.rpm /home/k78724/bjfilter-common-2.50-2.src.rpm /home/k78724/bjfilter-pixmaip1500-2.50-2.i386.rpm /home/k78724/bjfilter-pixmaip1500-lprng-2.50-2.i386.rpm /home/k78724/getlibs-all.deb /home/k78724/skype-install.deb /home/k78724/z600cups-1.0-1.gz.sh" so I will try the update manager [and/or install] again later... my email is koy...@gmail.com... thanks, Kenneth ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- update manager fails to fetch cdrom:[Ubuntu-Studio 8.10 _Intrepid Ibex_ - Release amd64 (20081028)]/pool/main/m/mawk/mawk_1.3.3-11.1ubuntu1_amd64.deb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
