Reviewing jarlath's files, very similar to mine on 2.6.28 kernel, Intel proc, Asus P5P800 MB with USB 2.0 connected external SATA drive. Same diminishing transfer rate for 1.4GB test transfer. Coming from 8.10 2.6.27-11.27-generic kernel. What were we to expect in this .28 build that could be different (other than a flat speedy transfer rate)?
