I'm not sure I know what you mean by the "gdb crash line". The stack
trace I sent was collected from a core file.

Why would it be linked to gnome-panel in a core file then?

No idea. When I try to remove it I don't get any indication that
anything else requires it:

$ sudo apt-get remove libwebkit-1.0-1
[sudo] password for brian:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
...
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  libwebkit-1.0-1 libwebkit-1.0-1-dbg
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 2 to remove and 30 not upgraded.
After this operation, 171MB disk space will be freed.

Thots?
